Ultima 55 is the first model of the new line of high-performance catamarans from Sunreef Yachts, created for those who love a modern lifestyle and are looking for a more dynamic concept of luxury yachting, featuring contemporary design with hydrofoil-assisted performance and speeds of up to 40 knots. Following international feedback, its upcoming debut in the United States at FLIBS marks a new adventure for the shipyard.

We listened to our customers and their feedback was clear, said Francis Lapp, founder and CEO of Sunreef. Some of our owners were asking for a smaller, faster, and more agile interpretation. This is the Ultima line, and we are excited to see such strong interest following the launch of the Ultima 55. Bringing the Ultima 55 to the United States for its debut at FLIBS is an exciting step forward for this model.

Sunreef Ultima 55, the concept

The timeless design does not lie, the curved lines and gently rounded edges, the contrast between the dark glass of the superstructure and the numerous lights along the hull immediately identify the signature of Sunreef Yachts, a concept with aggressive lines featuring a reverse bow and windows that follow the lines of the hull, reversing perspectives. A robust hydrofoil provides lift and reduces drag. The two foldable wings at the stern create a 7.6-meter wide platform ideal for water sports or sunbathing.

The Ultima is a bit unusual for Sunreef, added Francis Lapp. The brand’s heritage is clear, but the design is bolder and more dynamic. We have drawn on our long experience in developing stable and efficient hulls to create something capable of achieving higher speeds. All the elements that characterize a Sunreef are there, from solar panels to extreme comfort and flexibility of outdoor living. Simply, in a faster and more compact form.

The interiors

Below deck, the furnishings and finishes combined with the highest quality materials confirm the legendary high level of comfort of Sunreef, with refined, bright spaces designed to offer maximum comfort without sacrificing aesthetic elegance and clean lines. The double bed is centrally positioned on a raised platform made of fine wood, framed by a line of soft light that enhances its contours. At the foot of the bed, curved wooden steps facilitate access. To the left, a generous elongated hull window opens up, offering a direct view of the sea and flooding the space with natural light. On the ceiling, in addition to a manhole for ventilation, thin linear LED light strips are integrated to create a warm and welcoming atmosphere.

Technology and autonomy

The Ultima 55 is equipped with high-performance solar panels on the coach roof, capable of generating many kilowatts of renewable energy to keep the onboard batteries charged. The boat is equipped with 2 engines of 441 kW to provide optimal power and maneuverability and carries 1,500 liters of fuel, ensuring sufficient autonomy to sail more than 200 miles. The hydrofoil connects the two hulls below the waterline and is one of the key elements to achieve such autonomy and reduce fuel consumption.

Sunreef

For Sunreef, the U.S. debut represents an important opportunity to meet American customers, yachting enthusiasts, and the international marine press, as well as to personally present the Ultima 55.
